The LIMI-Gene Junior Program is designed to assist young Limousin breeders in the educational process of sire selection. Eligible participants will receive two units of a Limousin sire. This selection will be mutually agreed upon through the consulting process between Herman Symens (LIMI-Gene's owner) and the qualified Junior participant. LIMI-Gene will also provide the rental shipping tank and handling costs. The Junior is responsible for the prepaid cost of shipping.

Eligibility:

• The participant must be a North American Limousin Junior Association Member.
• The participant must be confirmed as a current member of a state or regional Junior Limousin Association by that organization’s advisor.
• The participant must be within the NALJA age requirements.

• Be prepared with the following information.
  • Name, address, and phone number.
  • Parent’s name.
  • NALJA membership number.
  • Registration number of junior’s heifer project.
  • A suggestion of a time for Herman Symens to phone the participant.

Consulting Process Topics:

• Herman will visit with the participant to learn about them and their heifer.
• what your goals are with your project?
• what do you think your heifer’s strengths and weaknesses are?
• what is your heifer's pedigree?
• what would you like to have her calf be like?
• what bulls are you thinking about using on your heifer?

Ordering:

• Establish a time when you will want to breed your heifer.
• Allow for non-shipping days (weekends and holidays).
• Check the amount of time needed for ground shipping by UPS.
• Co-ordinate any other orders that may be shipped in the same tank to save on shipping costs.
• Provide a physical shipping address to which the dry shipper tank will be sent and a charged nitrogen storage tank at hand for transfer of breeding units within two days.
• UPS will pick up the empty tank for return to LIMI-Gene in approximately three days when placed in the same place as it was delivered.
